A fuel card is an alternative payment source for drivers that allows you to track spend, limit usage and file expenses more efficiently.

It can also help you manage your business vehicles’ costs. No matter how many vehicles you have in your fleet, there are many benefits to managing your costs this way.

These facilities work by allowing drivers to fill up their vehicle at a petrol station within a partner network and receive a discount on the cost of diesel shown at the time you purchase it.

The driver simply presents the card to the cashier instead of using your credit or debit cards. The filling station receives payment immediately, but your business receives an invoice for payment (on based on your own account terms). You can also collect a receipt as proof of purchase.

You have the option of either;

– a ‘Pump price account’ that is locked to 3p BELOW whatever the pump shows.
This means whatever number you see at the point of purchase, you are always paying less – and that way you save a set amount of money.

– Or you can opt for what’s known as a ‘Fixed price account’ – means the amount you will pay is fixed each week.
These typically offer greater discounts, although on rare occasions the savings may decrease due to wholesale fluctuations.
