Yes. That’s me. I’m making fun of myself because it’s taken me so long to finally step in front of a camera and actually start making the videos that are LONG overdue for Couriers TV.
The thing is – some people are naturally happy to be filmed and make themselves the centre of attention. But I’ve never been one of those people. I’m typically much happier in the background of a family photo, or even better, not in one at all. I’m the last person to sign up for anything that means I have to have a camera pointed at me.
Which is why it was kind of strange that I created Couriers TV. In the early days it was little more than a blog (despite the ‘TV’ domain) but as the platform grew, I knew that videos and YouTube would be an inevitable part of its future.
Stuck between a rock and a hard place
I had 2 choices: Either BE in the videos, or hire someone else to be in them.
And in the end, it was the fact that I both couldn’t afford anyone else, and that I really didn’t want to have to rely on someone else being available when I needed them, that forced my hand.
Maybe in time this will get easier. It’s very weird to have to see and hear yourself as you edit the video, hearing yourself saying words over and over again makes everything sound odd. And maybe this is just me, but I’ve now created a list of about 50 things I don’t like about myself and that I need to change.
For now though, the important thing is that Couriers TV is one step closer to having the content I’ve been preparing for the last year.
